C. Thomas Dow, M.D.
Dr. C. Thomas Dow was born in Rice Lake, Wisconsin, and has resided in the
Chippewa Valley for the majority of his life. Dr. Dow opened the Chippewa Valley
Eye Clinic in 1978.
Dr. Dow received his bachelor of science degree from the University of
Wisconsin-Madison in microbiology, and attended medical school at the University
of Wisconsin School of Medicine in Madison, Wisconsin. Following medical school,
he did an internship year at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan,
and completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Wisconsin
Hospital and Clinics.
Dr. Dow has been Board Certified in Ophthalmology since 1979, is licensed in
Wisconsin, and is included in the “Best Doctors in America” database. He has
served as a member of the surgical team, “Free Rural Eye Clinic,” in the
Philippines several times. In addition to seeing patients, Dr. Dow has research
interests in infectious causes of immune disease and in telomerase in oncology
and regenerative medicine.
Dr. Dow is currently a member of several organizations, including: the American
Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Medical Association, the State Medical
Society of Wisconsin, the Wisconsin & Upper Michigan Society of Ophthalmology
and the Tri-County Medical Society.

Lee A. Hofer, M.D.
Dr. Lee A. Hofer was born in Wisconsin and graduated from the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire with a degree in Biology. Dr. Hofer earned his Medical Doctor degree at the University of Minnesota Medical School and completed an internship year at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis in general medicine. Dr. Hofer did his ophthalmology residency at the University of Minnesota, Hennepin County Medical Center and the Veterans Administration Hospital in Minneapolis.
Dr. Hofer has practiced comprehensive ophthalmology in Eau Claire and Menomonie at Chippewa Valley Eye Clinic since 1988. He has been performing laser refractive surgery since 1998, having performed over 15,000 laser refractive procedures. Dr. Hofer founded the first laser refractive center in western Wisconsin in 2002 and was among the first surgeons in the US to perform all blade free LASIK using the Intralase laser. He has participated in medical mission work in Poland where he trained surgeons in the technique of corneal transplantation.
Dr. Hofer holds medical licenses in Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, Arizona and Florida. He is a member of the AMA, a board certified member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of the American College of Refractive Surgeon, a member of the International Society of Refractive Surgeons, and a member of the Wisconsin State Medical Association.

Roger S. Gray, Jr., M.D.
Dr. Roger S. Gray, Jr. was born in Madison, Wisconsin. He has resided in the
Chippewa Valley since 1990, when he joined the Chippewa Valley Eye Clinic.
Dr. Gray received his bachelor of science degree from the University of Wyoming
in Laramie, Wyoming, in microbiology, and attended medical school at the Medical
College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Following medical school, he did
an internship year at Waterbury Hospital in Waterbury, Connecticut, and
completed his ophthalmology residency at Yale University School of Medicine in
New Haven, Connecticut.
Dr. Gray has been Board Certified in Ophthalmology since 1991 and is licensed in
Wisconsin. He is currently a member of several organizations, including: the
American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Medical Association, the State
Medical Society of Wisconsin, the Tri-County Medical Society, and the Wisconsin
Academy of Ophthalmology.

Heidi L. Jarecki, M.D.
Dr. Heidi L. Jarecki was born in Washburn, Wisconsin, and grew up in Eau Claire.
She returned to the Chippewa Valley in the summer of 2005 when she joined the
Chippewa Valley Eye Clinic.
Dr. Jarecki received her bachelor of science degree from the University of
Wisconsin-Oshkosh in microbiology, and attended medical school at the University
of Wisconsin School of Medicine in Madison, Wisconsin. Following medical school,
she did an internship at Michigan State University/Kalamazoo Center for Medical
Studies in Kalamazoo, Michigan, and completed her ophthalmology residency at the
University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics. Dr. Jarecki served as chief
resident for her final year of her residency.
Dr. Jarecki is currently Board Certified in Ophthalmology and is licensed in
Wisconsin. In addition, Dr. Jarecki has participated in research at Lund
University in Malmo, Sweden, and served as principle investigator on the
evaluation of electroretinographic changes after intravitreal steroid injection.
Dr. Jarecki is currently a member of several organizations, including: the
American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Medical Association, The
American Medical Women's Association, the State Medical Society of Wisconsin,
the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the Wisconsin
Alumni Association.

Thomas M. Harvey, M.D.
Dr. Thomas M. Harvey was born in Madison, Wisconsin, and moved to the Chippewa Valley when he joined the Chippewa Valley Eye Clinic in the summer of 2005. He has performed thousands of vision correction procedures.
Dr. Harvey received his Bachelor of Science in genetics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and later attended medical school at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Following medical school, he did an internship year at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (Chief Resident 2003-2004) in Pennsylvania. After residency, Dr. Harvey also completed a one-year surgical fellowship in cornea, anterior segment and refractive surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Harvey is currently Board Certified in Ophthalmology and is licensed in Wisconsin. He has served as a member of a missionary surgical team in Honduras and Vietnam. In addition to seeing patients, Dr. Harvey has various research interests, including lamellar corneal transplantation.
Dr. Harvey is currently a member of several organizations, including: the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Medical Association, the State Medical Society of Wisconsin, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the Wisconsin Alumni Association.

Siobhan Beeksma, O.D.
Dr. Siobhan Beeksma was born in Edina, Minnesota, grew up in the Chippewa
Valley, and joined the Chippewa Valley Eye Clinic in 2000. She received her
bachelor of science degree in chemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Eau
Claire in 1996. In 1999 Dr. Beeksma received a bachelor of science degree from
the Illinois College of Optometry in visual science, prior to completing the
optometry program there in 2000.
Dr. Beeksma is board certified by the American Optometric Association and
licensed in Wisconsin. She is a member of the Wisconsin Optometric Association
and the Indianhead Optometric Society.

Timothy J. Frederiksen, O.D.
Dr. Fredericksen was born in Racine, Wisconsin, moved to the Chippewa Valley in
1988, and joined the Chippewa Valley Eye Clinic in 1999. He received his
bachelor of science degree in pre-med from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside
in 1984 and graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry in 1988.
Dr. Frederiksen is board certified by the American Optometric Association and
licensed in Wisconsin. He is a member of the Wisconsin Optometric Association
and the Indianhead Optometric Society.

William F. Hawn, M.D.
Dr. William F. Hawn was born in Fargo, North Dakota, and has resided in the
Chippewa Valley since 1981 and joined the Chippewa Valley Eye Clinic in 1999.
Dr. Hawn received his bachelor of science degree from St. John’s University in
Collegeville, Minnesota, in biology. He attended medical school at the
University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, North Dakota for two years and
completed his medical school education at the University of Nebraska School of
Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska. Following medical school, he did an internship year
at the University of Nebraska Hospital and completed his ophthalmology residency
at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
Dr. Hawn has been Board Certified in Ophthalmology since 1982 and is licensed in
Wisconsin. He is currently a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

Nicholas Komro, O.D.
Dr. Komro was born in Durand, Wisconsin, and joined the Chippewa Valley Eye
Clinic in 2004. He received his bachelor of science degree in molecular
microbiology from the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida, in
1997. In 1998 Dr. Komro received a bachelor of science degree from the Illinois
College of Optometry in visual science, prior to completing the optometry
program there in 2001. Following graduation, Dr. Komro completed a residency at
the Cleveland Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio, in 2002.
Dr. Komro is board certified by the American Optometric Association and licensed
in Wisconsin. He is a member of the Wisconsin Optometric Association, the
Indianhead Optometric Society, and the Menomonie Lions Club.

Ronald H. Lange, M.D.
Dr. Ronald H. Lange was born in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. He has resided in the
Chippewa Valley since 1984, when he joined the Chippewa Valley Eye Clinic.
Dr. Lange received his bachelor of science degree from the University of
Wisconsin-Stevens Point in biology and chemistry, and attended medical school at
the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Following medical
school, he did an internship year at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Milwaukee,
Wisconsin, and completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of
Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics in Madison, Wisconsin. After residency, Dr.
Lange also completed a medical retina fellowship at the University of Wisconsin
Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin.
Dr. Lange has been Board Certified in Ophthalmology since 1986 and is licensed
in Wisconsin. Dr. Lange is currently a member of several organizations,
including: the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Medical
Association, the State Medical Society of Wisconsin, the Tri-County Medical
Society, and the Eau Claire/Chippewa Chapter of the American Diabetes
Association.

Roy A. Olson, M.D.
Dr. Roy A. Olson was born in Redwing, Minnesota, and has resided in the Chippewa
Valley since 1975. He joined the Chippewa Valley Eye Clinic in 1999.
Dr. Olson received his bachelor of science degree from the University of
Wisconsin-River Falls, in chemistry and math, and attended medical school at the
Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Following medical school,
he did an internship year at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida,
and completed his ophthalmology residency at the National Naval Medical Center
in Bethesda, Maryland.
Dr. Olson has been Board Certified in Ophthalmology since 1976 and is licensed
in Wisconsin. He is currently a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
