I had associated this abnormality to my allergies. However, in a relatively short period of time, these symptoms began to impair my normal routine activities, including my ability to drive. At this point, I decided to schedule an appointment to see Dr. Dow.”

What I had attributed to allergies was otherwise diagnosed to be that of a fast growing cataract. Because the view was poor to the back of the eye, Dr. Dow scheduled my surgery promptly for my right eye.”
“A few weeks later, cataract surgery was scheduled for my left eye as well. However, during this time, new symptoms with my eyes began to develop. Dr. Dow noticed some bleeding behind my retina. I was promptly scheduled to see Dr. Lange who performed laser surgery the next day. He told me that no guarantees could be made but laser would be done to preserve my vision and try to keep it from worsening. Fortunately, the surgery was quite successful and my vision improved. I appreciate Dr. Lange’s prompt response to my condition as well as his assistant, Shirley, and their kindness throughout my visit. Currently, I am able to see quite well at a distance…just a slight correction is needed for reading.”

In terms of recreation, I continued to play golf but could not see where the ball went. I was totally dependant on my friends to watch the ball for me. It made the game a lot less fun as I could not appreciate a good shot.
